What is Visual Problem Solver (VIPS)?

VIPS is a web based application designed to solve problems in mathematics, physics, economics or other fields. Main areas of application are in schools, universities or other educational institutions.

VIPS can be used with any modern device and HTML5 compatible browser but works best on tablet devices such as iPad.

Why?

Teaching complex courses such as mathematics is difficult, since different people have different level of skill it is hard for the teacher to give required attention to every pupil.

VIPS improves collaboration between teacher and pupils, by solving homework exercises pupils can get help from VIPS to complete their assignments in time and with least amount of errors as possible.

Since work is stored in the cloud, pupils can experiment and find different solutions to a single problem.

Calculator is not needed anymore!

To solve exercises, pupils don't need to use calculators, the program will do this work for them, as long as equation is in the format that can be calculated. This helps to cut the time that is needed to perform routine tasks and let pupil focus on the actual task.

Failure is an option!

Pupil can get stuck when doing homework exercise, since there is nobody to help, this can result in unfinished work. With VIPS this problem is solved by giving pupil some help with tips how to solve specific steps of exercise. At the end when exercise is completed, the program will automatically verify if work was completed correctly or not.

Finally solving math is fun again!
